OVERVIEW
90th Annual Spring Conference: Neuro-Ophthalmology is organized by University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) and will be held on Jun 02, 2018 at W.K. Kellogg Eye Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is subspecialist, ophthalmologist, and ophthalmologist-in-training. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 continuing medical education credits.
Conference Description:
One of the longest-running ophthalmology conferences in the country, our annual Spring Conference provides a comprehensive and focused medical and surgical update for the subspecialist, ophthalmologist, and ophthalmologist-in-training.
Neuro-ophthalmologists specialize in disorders of visual function arising from the central nervous system. Because assessment of neuro-ophthalmic disorders requires expertise in both the fields of neurology and ophthalmology, many neuro-ophthalmic conditions go undetected leading to potentially catastrophic results for patients.
However, by outlining a systematic approach to neuro-ophthalmic disorders, the appropriate use of radiographic and ancillary testing, and educating providers about vision-threatening or life-threatening neuro-ophthalmic emergencies, we aim to provide clinicians with the clinical tools to detect and assess patients with neuro-ophthalmic signs and symptoms.
Therefore, we have divided the seminar into 3 sessions each of which will be capped with a panel discussion of challenging cases by neuro-ophthalmology experts. The 3 sessions are ocular motor disorders, vision disorders, and neuro-ophthalmic emergencies.
Conference Objectives are:
• A systematic approach to evaluation and management of patients with ocular motor disorders
• A systematic approach to the evaluation and management of patients with
unexplained vision loss
• An appropriate differential diagnosis of the most common neuro-ophthalmic ocular motor and vision disorders, which also includes pertinent neuro-ophthalmic emergencies
• When to order radiographic testing and which test to order in patients
with neuro-ophthalmic disorders.
• The use of ancillary tests (e.g. OCT, ERG) in patients with neuro-ophthalmic disorders
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
