Objectives :
• Gain understanding of the anatomy relevant for bronchoscopy including common anatomical variants and common pathological findings.
• Practice the skills required for bronchoscopic alveolar lavage and other procedures performed with a fibre-optic bronchoscope including intubation, percutaneous tracheostomy, removal foreign objects, lung isolation techniques.
• Understand the pitfalls and limitations of bronchoscopy, double lumen endotracheal tubes, fibreoptic intubation in the critically ill and percutaneous tracheostomy.
• Cover all the areas of the FFICM curriculum relating to bronchoscopy.
