OVERVIEW
Health partners Clinical Simulation Facilitator Workshop is organized by HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research and would be held during Nov 08 - 10, 2017 at Regions Hospital, Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 22.00 contact hours of continuing nursing education.
This 3-day program is designed for individuals who desire more in-depth knowledge and skills in effectively incorporating simulation into all levels of health care education, from undergraduate programs to staff development.
Content is based on the current science and best practices from simulation literature as well as the expertise and experience gained since opening one of the first simulation centers in Minnesota over 10 years ago. The workshop blends didactic content with group discussion, learning activities, and hands-on practice. During the program, participants will opportunities to facilitate scenarios, create a scenario, and lead the debriefing.
Workshop facilitators will share helpful tips on equipment maintenance including removing adhesive from mannequins. Information on policies and program operations will be valuable for the novice as well as individuals interested in pursuing certification or program accreditation. This program is facilitated by certified healthcare simulation educators.
Conference Objectives are :
• Identify theories that provide a framework for the use of simulation as an educational methodology.
• Define and provide examples of fidelity.
• Construct a 5-minute simulation scenario including objectives, roles, equipment, scenario flow and critical actions.
• Operate a high-fidelity mannequin, adjusting parameters to reflect scenario script and participant actions.
• Utilize moulage techniques to increase realism.
• Facilitate a simulation utilizing a high or moderate fidelity mannequin.
• dentify components of an effective debrief.
• Demonstrate elements of an effective debrief.
