14th American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS) Annual Conference is organized by American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS) and would be held during Feb 15 - 18, 2017 at Caribe Royale All-Suite Hotel and Convention Center - Orlando, Florida, United States Of America. The target audience for this medical event is basically for clinicians and scientists from oncology, nursing, social work, psychology, psychiatry, patient advocacy, spiritual care and other mental health professions working in psychosocial oncology in academic and community cancer centers large and small.
Objectives
In this annual meeting, APOS aims to increase adoption and reach of the standard of psychosocial care in oncology by :
• Identifying at least one evidence-based strategy, which may include innovative uses of data and technologies, for improving access to quality psychosocial cancer care, particularly patient navigation, survivorship care, and distress management for underserved and medically vulnerable patients of all ages and their families.
• Translating at least one scientific finding into quality whole-patient psychosocial cancer care via collaboration among researchers, practitioners and advocacy groups, with special attention to vulnerable populations across the lifespan and including ethnic, racial, and cultural minorities, aging and pediatric U.S. population.
• Identifying at least one practice-based advocacy or policy initiative that promotes health equity across the lifespan in psychosocial oncology nationally through integrating findings from psychosocial oncology clinical, biological, or biobehavioral research.
• Identifying at least one strategy for strengthening ethnic, racial, and cultural diversity among psychosocial oncology professionals.
