University of Michigan Movement and Memory Disorders Update is organized by University of Michigan Health System and would be held on Oct 21, 2016 at The Inn at St. John’s, Plymouth, Michigan, USA.
The target audience for this medical event are basically for primary care physicians, geriatricians, neurologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and physician assistants who see patients with movement disorders. This medical conference focuses on issues in patients with tremor, Parkinson disease and dementia, utilizing both a didactic and case-study approach.
This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This conference covers recognition, diagnosis, efficient assessment and initial management of patients who present with tremor, Parkinson disease, and cognitive problems.
Conference Objectives :
* Identify different types of tremor and use that knowledge to more accurately diagnose tremor disorders
* Describe pharmacologic treatment options for managing motor symptoms in Parkinson disease
* Recognize the common neuropsychiatric features (including depression, anxiety, apathy, impulse control disorders, psychosis) seen in Parkinson disease and how to manage the symptoms
* Identify potential essential tremor and Parkinson disease candidates for deep brain stimulation and when it is appropriate to refer
* Describe how to evaluate patients with cognitive complaints
* Recognize the clinical manifestations of dementia with Lewy bodies, and be familiar with current treatment options
* Diagnose and treat Alzheimer’s disease.
