Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Recertification Afternoon Course is organized by University of South Florida (USF) Health and would be held on Sep 18, 2016 at University of South Florida/CAMLS, Tampa, Florida, United States of America. The target audience for this medical event basically for Physicians, Resident/Fellow Physicians, ARNPs, PAs, CRNAs involved in treatment and management of emergency, critical and trauma patients.
The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) program teaches health care providers a systematic, concise approach to the care of a trauma patient. ATLS is an American College of Surgeons (ACS) national curriculum course that provides the learner a safe and reliable method for immediate management of injured patients. Providers learn how to assess a patient's condition, resuscitate and stabilize the patient, and determine if the patient’s needs exceed a facility’s capacity. It also covers how to arrange for a patient's inter-hospital transfer and assure that optimum care is provided throughout the process.
Learning Objectives :
As a result of participating in this activity, the physician, ARNP or PA will be able to:
• Assess the patient’s condition rapidly and accurately
• Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority
• Determine if the patient’s needs exceed a facility’s capabilities
• Arrange appropriately for the patient's definitive care
• Ensure that optimum patient care is provided
