The Advanced Pectus Excavatum Course is designed for surgeons who are currently doing the Nuss Procedure in their practice, but want to improve their results. Since its description by Dr. Nuss 16 years ago, the technique has changed markedly. Improved techniques for decreased bar rotation, elimination of intercostal stripping, and allowing safer passage of the bars under the sternum have been developed.
The course will also cover modifications for adult pectus patients, techniques for recurrent or failed prior surgery, and modifications for mixed defects.
